SUMMARY OF ITEM

Staff recommends the purchase and installation of electric power infrastructure from Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC in the amount of $119,346.24.  Oncor is the sole provider for the installation of this infrastructure in the area of Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve; and therefore, the purchase is exempt from the competitive bid as provided in the V.T.C.A. Local Government Code, Section 252.022(a)(7)(C).

The electrical services consist of removal of an existing distribution line along the abandoned Morton Vale Road that is now within Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve.  Also included is replacement of the electric service with new underground electrical service along the east side of Los Rios Boulevard from the abandoned Morton Vale Road to Cloverhaven Lane, and the installation of  underground electrical service and a transformer on the west side of Los Rios Boulevard across from Fire Station No. 11.  The new service will provide power for future park improvements to be located on the adjacent hillside in Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve.
