COMMENTS:  This item approves price quotes for Mobile and Portable Radios purchased from an interlocal agreement. Expenditures will be made in the Police Department based on need within the approved budget appropriations.  The total estimated amount to be spent is $213,945; a portion of that total equaling $188,680 will be spent to support new personnel and vehicles and will be made within the Police Department's approved budget appropriations. The remaining expenditure of $25,265 to replace one (1) Mobile and five (5) Portable Radios will be made within the FY 2016-17 Police Department's Equipment Replacement Fund budget.

SUMMARY OF ITEM


The City is authorized to purchase from a cooperative purchasing program with another local government or a local cooperative organization pursuant to Chapter 271 Subchapter F of the Local Government Code and by doing so satisfies any State Law requiring local governments to seek competitive bids for items.  (HGAC Contract No. RA05-15 / City of Plano Internal Contract No. 2017-018-X)
