The tennis courts at High Point Tennis Center are showing signs of deterioration, including areas of surface cracks and excessive wear. A well-maintained playing surface is a critical component of a tennis court, contributing to patron safety and the overall aesthetics.
With an average life of 5-7 years, court resurfacing is needed to provide the excellent playing conditions our community appreciates and is accustomed to. The resurfacing of the tennis courts at High Point Tennis Center was budgeted as part of this year’s Capital Maintenance Fund Program. The last resurfacing took place in 2020.
If approved, the resurfacing project will be executed and completed in the Spring of 2026, weather permitting. The resurfacing will be scheduled on four courts at a time, resulting in minimal impact to facility operations.
A Request for Bid was issued, and responses were received from eight vendors. Based on the following criteria: pricing submitted, bid bond, vendor acknowledgment, vendor compliance, contract time, and client work history, Sport Surface Pros, LLC met the requirements and specifications as the lowest, responsive, and responsible bidder.
It is the department’s recommendation for Council to award RFP No. 2025-0468-B for High Point Tennis Center Court Resurfacing to Sport Surface Pros, LLC who was the lowest, responsive, and responsible bidder upon the criteria above in the amount of $170,000 utilizing funds available through the Capital Maintenance Fund 353067-8331.
