Louis Construction of Texas Ltd. in the amount of $16,139,315; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. Approved

| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Engineering Department opened bids on April 1, 2025, for the Sewer Improvements Dallas North Trunk - Phase 2 project. The project includes approximately 6,980 linear feet of 36-inch and 42-inch wastewater line, approximately 1,250 linear feet of slip lined pipe, one (1) aerial crossing, and four (4) hand tunnels. The project will reduce the likelihood of surcharging in the wastewater collection system.
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by S. J. Louis Construction of Texas Ltd. in the amount of $16,139,315. There were a total of 1,686 vendors notified of this project. Five (5) complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
If this project is not awarded, the existing sanitary sewer system in the southern part of Plano will continue to surcharge, causing odor, environmental issues, increased maintenance costs, and a negative impact on the quality of life for the surrounding businesses, developments, and residents. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is budgeted in the FY 2024-25 Sewer CIP and is planned for future years as well. Construction services for the Sewer Improvements Dallas North Trunk - Phase 2 project in the total estimated amount of $16,139,315 will leave a current year balance of $572,704 for future project expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
