| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Parks and Recreation Department opened bids on April 1, 2025, for Timber Brook Park Irrigation and Landscape Renovations. The park is located at 6622 Norwood Lane. The renovation project includes regrading the practice field, erosion control, and sidewalk extension. The renovation also includes a new irrigation system and new sod.
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by Central North Construction LLC in the amount of $513,812. There were two thousand one hundred and thirty-eight (2,138) vendors notified of this project. Eight (8) complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
The benefit of this project includes providing a solution to the existing grading and erosion issues, which prevents the use of the practice field for many days after rain. The addition of new sod and irrigation system will also improve the overall turf quality of the park while eliminating conditions that make the park less desirable for drop-in recreational play and practices. Not approving the expenditure will result in more declining sod, more erosion issues, and increase cost for irrigation repairs. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2024-25 Park Improvements CIP. Construction services for the Timber Brook Park Irrigation and Landscape Renovations project, in the total estimated amount of $513,812, will leave a current year balance of $37,688 for future expenditures.
