| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND Public Works recommends the approval of Change Order No. 1, decreasing the current awarded amount of $3,578,000.00 by $308,774.03 for a total contract amount of $3,269,225.97 for Residential Concrete Pavement Repair Zone D6 West, Project PW-S-00002.
This change order is for a reduction in quantities of contract items that were not necessary to complete Residential Concrete Pavement Repair Zone D6 West. The project was designed in the summer of 2021. Public Works staff utilize street scores to estimate the amount of pavement removal needed on a street or residential neighborhood repair project. The estimates are typically within 10-15% of the actual street repairs needed in the project limits. In this case, the amount of work completed was 8.6% less than the original estimate. The remaining funds will be used on future residential projects.
If this change order is not approved, the city will not be able to reallocate these funds to a future project.

| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS This item approves a change in the contract with Garret Shields Infrastructure, LLC for construction services for the Residential Concrete Pavement Repair Zone D6 West project. The first change order, reducing the current contract by $308,774, will leave a balance of $375,394 for use in other street improvement projects.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factors of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
