| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Parks and Recreation Department opened bids on August 14, 2025, for Bob Woodruff Park North Core Renovation, Project No. PKR-P-7260.1. The project renovates and relocates the playground and restroom and includes the installation of new utilities, retaining walls, trail paving, sidewalk connections on San Gabriel Drive, tree planting, and irrigation.
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by Millis Development and Construction - Dallas, LLC in the amount of $4,892,306. There was a total of 2,549 vendors notified of this project. Nine (9) complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
The benefit of this renovation project is that aging park infrastructure is replaced and results in greater recreational use of the site by moving critical features outside of the flood plain. If this project is not approved, funding approved by the voters will not be used to complete already installed park features designed to maximize the park’s potential. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is budgeted in the 2025-26 Park Improvements CIP and is planned for future years as well. Construction services for the Bob Woodruff Park North Core Renovation project in the amount of $4,892,306 will leave a balance of $260,430 for future project expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
