| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Engineering Department opened bids on November 20, 2025, for Preston - McDermott Lighting, Project No. TP-S-00018. This project provides street lighting improvements along Preston Road from Towne Square Boulevard north to SH 121 and along McDermott Road from Preston Road to approximately 650 feet west of Ohio Drive.
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by Highway Intelligent Traffic Solutions, LLC in the amount of $517,316. A total of 2,649 vendors were notified of this project. Seven (7) complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
If this project is not awarded, the result would be continued safety concerns for pedestrians and motorists in this area, arising from poor lighting conditions. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is budgeted in the 2025-26 Street Improvement CIP. Construction services for the Preston - McDermott Lighting project in the total amount of $517,316 will leave a balance of $112 for future expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factors of Safe, Vibrant Neighborhoods and being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
