COMMENTS:  This item approves a contract between Hardin & Associates, LLC and the City of Plano for inspection and professional services in order to stay compliant with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). The estimated expenditure to be purchased from this contract in FY 2016-17 is $15,000. Future expenditures will be made by Backflow Operations within the annual approved budget appropriations at an estimated annual expenditure of $185,000 for fiscal year 2017-18 for a total of $200,000.

SUMMARY OF ITEM


This Professional Services Agreement is to allow Hardin & Associates Consulting, LLC to provide third party inspection services for Customer Service Inspections and Water Use Survey Inspections and re-inspections as required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). These inspections are necessary for ensuring continued TCEQ compliance and protecting public health by identifying and preventing cross-connections to the potable water supply throughout the City of Plano.

 

Contract fee for this service is $200,000.00.

 

The City is exempt from the competitive bid process for this purchase as allowed by Texas Local Government Code Chapter 252 Subchapter B Section 252.022(a)(4). (City of Plano Internal Contract No. 2017-0490-C).
