COMMENTS: Funding for this item is available in the 2016-17 and 2017-18 Capital Reserve Fund Budget. Construction of the Shawnee Park Fishing Pier, in the amount of $67,241, will leave a balance of $2,759 available for other Park Capital Reserve Fund projects in the future. |

SUMMARY OF ITEM
Staff recommends that the bid received from IWC Texas, LLC in the amount of $67,241 be accepted as the lowest responsible bid conditioned upon timely execution of any necessary contract documents. The bid was the only one submitted and is above the consultant’s estimate of $48,000 for the base bid. Staff does not believe rebidding will yield additional competive bids. Project funding is available from the Capital Reserve Fund.
The bid includes the construction of a fishing pier to replace the existing 30-year old pier. Work includes removal of the existing pier, assembly and construction of the new pier, and minor accessories to enable use within Shawnee Park Pond.
