| | | | | | | | ITEM SUMMARY To approve an expenditure for engineering professional services for Sewer Improvements Plano Parkway Parallel Interceptor, Project No. 7294, in the amount of $419,500 from Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. for the Engineering Department; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. Approved |
| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Engineering Department recommends approval of an expenditure in the amount of $419,500 for engineering professional services from Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. for Sewer Improvements Plano Parkway Parallel Interceptor, Project No. 7294. This project includes design and construction of a 30-inch parallel sanitary sewer line from Prairie Creek to east of Custer Road.
Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. was deemed most qualified based on their Statement of Qualifications submission for RFQ No. 2019-0398-X.
The benefit of this project includes the construction of parallel sanitary sewer system increasing the overall capacity to the system.
Not approving the expenditure would result in possible sanitary sewer overflows and a reduction in quality of life for local residents.

| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2020-21 Sewer CIP. Engineering professional services for the Sewer Improvements Plano Parkway Parallel Interceptor, Project No. 7294, in the total estimated amount of $419,500, will leave a current year balance of $180,500 for future project expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
