| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Engineering Department opened bids on November 5, 2020 for Wood Park 1 and Dallas North Estates Paving, Drainage, and Water Improvements, Project No. 6900.1. The project includes pavement and water line replacement for the Wood Park 1 and Dallas North Estates subdivisions which includes Glencliff Pl., Shady Cove Pl., Biscayne Cir., Hunters Creek Pl., Clear Springs Pl., Tisinger Pl., Province Pl., and Earlshire Pl. The project includes approximately 9,000 SY of pavement replacement, 3,400 LF of water line replacement and some drainage improvements at W. 15th St. and Earlshire Pl.
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by KIK Underground, LLC, in the amount of $1,900,327. There were a total of 700 vendors notified of this project. 12 complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
If this project is not awarded, the result is continued deterioration of the existing pavement along the eight (8) streets mentioned above, continued deterioration of the existing water line and continued inadequate water facilities, having increased maintenance costs for the City, and a negative impact on the quality of life in this neighborhood.

| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2020-21 Street Improvements CIP and Water CIP and is planned in the Street Improvements CIP for 2021-22, as well. Award of the construction contract for Wood Park 1 and Dallas North Estates Paving, Drainage, and Water Improvements, Project No. 6900.1, in the total estimated amount of $1,900,327 ($1,425,579 in FY 2020-21 and $474,748 in FY 2021-22), will leave a combined current year balance of $155,052 for future project expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factors of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government with Safe, Vibrant Neighborhoods. |
