Resolution No. 2021-1-1(R): To call for a public hearing on the creation of a public improvement district, the Collin Creek West Public Improvement District, being located within the corporate limits of the City of Plano; and providing an effective date. Adopted
PREVIOUS ACTION/PRESENTATIONIn Summer 2020, Council passed a similar resolution to call a public hearing for the West PID. The hearing was tabled and never conducted. The property owners/ petitioners have submitted a new petition and are ready to proceed.
BACKGROUNDThis action calls a public hearing to discuss the creation of a public improvement district over the western portion of the Collin Creek Redevelopment Project site. The western portion contains the majority of single family residential development. Details of the district's creation will be discussed at the public hearing in February.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS
This item has no financial impact. If adopted the financial impact of creating a Public Improvement District for the western portion of the Collin Creek Mall area is indeterminable at this time, with the funding for the district's activities being born by property owners within the district.
Approval of this Resolution supports the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factors of Residential and Commercial Economic Vitality and Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government.
