RECOMMENDED ACTION:Award/Rejection of Bid/Proposal

ITEM SUMMARY

RFB No. 2021-0071-B for Stadium Pump Sand Shelter Screen Wall, Project No. 7080, for the Facilities Department to Nouveau Technology Services, L.P. in the amount of $136,665; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. Approved

BACKGROUND

Facilities has reviewed the bids submitted for the Stadium Pump Sand Shelter Screen Wall Project. Facilities recommends award to the lowest responsive, responsible bid to Nouveau Technology Services, L.P. in the total base amount of $136,665. Alternate No. 1 included repainting the existing steel structure, but it is not included in the recommendation for award because the pricing is not favorable.

For the three (3) “no bid” responses: one had conflict with project scheduling; one replied “not applicable” and the final one was a ceramic equipment and supply company of which was not applicable to this project.

The consequence of not awarding this bid is that there will be no screening from the adjacent neighborhood at the Stadium sand and salt facility. The recently completed sand and salt facility off of Rasor Blvd was designed and constructed based on feedback from the neighborhood. We are adding the screening walls to improve the appearance of the Stadium site similar to the Rasor Blvd facility.

The funding for the project is in Capital Maintenance Fund Account 54465.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS

Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government.
