The current contract for the Public Relations Firm of record for Visit Plano expires in April 2021. Because this is a Professional Services Agreement the Visit Plano team would like to keep moving forward with the same Public Relations firm, Tucker & Associates, LLC. Our current firm has become part of the team and understands the direction we are taking Plano as it relates to our tourism initiatives.
During the past three years, the efforts of the Visit Plano team and Tucker & Associates, LLC were able to grow our PR Value by 350% or a total of $40,600,000 in PR value. Therefore, during the past three years for every dollar we invested with Tucker & Associates, LLC we were able to generate $140 in PR.
The primary objectives will remain the same:
- Build Better Brand Awareness
If this is not approved, this will leave Visit Plano without a PR firm which could have devastating effects on our very successful PR efforts thus far. This would have a definite impact on our industry partners, hotels, restaurants, attractions, retail and much more. We do not have in-house staff to fill this need.
The City is exempt from the competitive bid process for this purchase as allowed by Texas Local Government Code Chapter 252 Subchapter B Section 252.022(a)(4). (City of Plano Internal Contract No. 2021-0128-XR)
