ITEM SUMMARY

RFB No. 2021-0100-B for Police Training HVAC Replacement for the Facilities Department to Infinity Contractors International, LTD. in the amount of $101,736; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. Approved

BACKGROUND

Facilities has reviewed the bids submitted for the Police Training HVAC Replacement project. Facilities recommends award to the lowest responsive, responsible bid to Infinity Contractors International, LTD. in the total amount of $101,736.

 

The four (4) "no bid" responses: one had a conflict with scheduling, one was out of our scope, one was not applicable to project and the final one provides new cooling towers, cooling tower repairs and services cooling towers which was not applicable.

 

The current unit is over 28 years and is past its life expectancy. It has deteriorated such that replacement is required and the existing refrigerant is on the EPA list for phase out and no longer being manufactured. The new system will have one of the EPA recommended environmentally friendly refrigerants.

 

The funding for the project is in Capital Maintenance Fund Account 54429.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS

Funding for this item is available in the 2020-21 Capital Maintenance Fund.  Replacement of the HVAC system at the Police Training facility, in the total estimated amount of $101,736, will leave a current year balance of $296,167 for future project expenditures.

 

Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government.
