ITEM SUMMARY

Resolution No. 2021-3-5(R): To authorize the filing of an application for U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development funds in an amount not to exceed $1,407,268 under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act; designating the City Manager as Chief Executive Officer and authorized representative of the City for the purpose of giving required assurances, acting in connection with said application and providing required information; authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary documents; and providing an effective date. Adopted

BACKGROUND

On March 27, 2020, the President signed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) (Public Law No.116-136). Under the CARES Act, the City of Plano has been allocated an additional $1,407,268 of Community Development Block Grant-Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The activities to be funded by CDBG-CV are summarized in a Substantial Amendment to the City of Plano 2019-2020 Action Plan for the use of HUD funds.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS

This item authorizes the filling of applications for U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development funds under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act. The total amount to be received in FY 2020-21 is not to exceed $1,407,268.  

 

Approval of this resolution will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government.
