RECOMMENDED ACTION:Award/Rejection of Bid/Proposal

ITEM SUMMARY

RFB No. 2021-0212-ER for the initial term of $2,542,445 or two (2) years, whichever occurs first, with two (2) City optional renewals for Sanitary Sewer Rehab Requirements Contract III, Project 7319, for Public Works Department to Insituform Technologies, LLC in the amount of $2,542,445 for each term; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. Approved

BACKGROUND

Public Works Department recommends the bid for the Sanitary Sewer Rehab Requirements Contract III to be awarded to Insituform Technologies, LLC, in the amount of $2,542,445.00, be accepted as the lowest responsible bid for the project conditioned upon timely execution of all necessary documents. A total of five hundred fifty-six (556) vendors were notified of the bid. Five (5) vendors submitted a "No Bid" and five (5) entities submitted questions regarding the project after reviewing the bid proposal. One (1) bid was submitted.

 

This project involves the repair of 25,650 LF of trenchless sewer pipe repair in various locations throughout the City of Plano.

 

If project is not awarded at Council, the repairs will not occur and the City will pay additional money to NTMWD for wastewater treatment.

 

Engineer's estimate for this project is $2,600,000.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS

Funding for this item is available in the 2020-21 Sewer CIP and is planned for future years, as well.  Award of the Sanitary Sewer Rehab Requirements Contract III has an initial term of two (2) years or $2,542,445 and two (2) City optional renewals of the same term, for an estimated total amount of $7,627,335 if all renewal options are exercised.

 

Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government.
