| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Engineering Department opened bids on March 25, 2021 for Legacy Median Lighting, Project No. 6542. The project includes the removal and replacement of street lights in the median of Legacy Drive from Dallas North Tollway to Parkwood Blvd.
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by Groves Electrical Service, Inc., in the amount of $323,649. There were a total of 726 vendors notified of this project. Seven (7) complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
If this project is not awarded, the existing lights will remain, which are inadequate at providing safe lighting for this heavily-trafficked corridor on Legacy Drive, reducing the safety of pedestrians and motorists that utilize this area in the Legacy East Development. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2020-21 Street Improvements CIP. Removal and replacement of street lights in the median of Legacy Drive from Dallas North Tollway to Parkwood Blvd, in the total estimated amount of $323,649, will leave a current year balance of $26,351 for future project expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
