| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Engineering Department opened bids on April 1, 2021 for the Water Rehabilitation Cross Creek East #3A. The project includes replacement of approximately 12,700 L.F. of 8" and 6" water lines, including all related appurtenances (such as: valves, services, fire hydrants, etc). In addition, non-compliant barrier free ramps at intersections, sidewalk, and portions of street pavement will be replaced along the project limits at the following locations:
• Slater Trail - Bass Drive to north side of Hedgcoxe Road (760 L.F.)
• Filmore Dr. - Roberta Dr. to end of cul-de-sac (2290 L.F.)
• Bass Dr. - Roberta Dr. to Alma Dr. (2270 L.F.)
• Summertree Circle - Staghorn Dr. to end of cul-de-sac (830 L.F.)
• Gannon Dr. - Staghorn Dr. to Alma Dr. (840 L.F.)
• Staghorn Dr. - Bass Dr. to Simon Dr. (870 L.F.)
• Purcell Dr. - Roberta Dr. to alley north of Filmore Dr. (1400 L.F.)
• Roberta Dr. - Filmore Dr. to Bass Dr. (670 L.F.)
• Christine Dr. - Bass Dr. to Simon Dr. (880 L.F.)
• Shannon Dr. - Christine Dr. to Vineyard Dr. (880 linear L.F.)
• Sandhurst Dr. - Christine Dr. to Vineyard Dr. (1020 L.F.)
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by ANA Site Construction, LLC. in the amount of $2,574,536. There were a total of 1272 vendors notified of this project. 8 complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
If this project is not awarded, neighborhood infrastructure at these locations, including water lines and roadway pavement, will continue to deteriorate leading to increased future maintenance costs and a reduction in the quality of life for residents. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2020-21 Street Improvements CIP and Water CIP and is anticipated in both funds for 2021-22, as well. Water line and barrier-free ramp replacements for the Water Rehabilitation Cross Creek East project, in the total estimated amount of $2,574,536, will leave a current year balance of $6,563,422 for future project expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
