| | | | | | | | PREVIOUS ACTION/PRESENTATION On 2/10/2020, City Council approved the expenditure of professional engineering services for 17th Street Paving and Waterline Improvements, Project No. 7222, in the amount of $345,300 to Freese and Nichols, Inc. |
| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Engineering Department recommends approval of Contract Modification No. 1 for the increase in the professional services agreement with Freese and Nichols, Inc, in the amount of $55,836, for the 17th Street Paving and Waterline Improvements, Project No. 7222.
Contract Modification No. 1 includes survey and preparation of twenty-two (22) additional sidewalk easement documents required for the 17th Street Paving and Waterline Improvements project.
If this contract modification is not approved, right-of-way constraints would prohibit the city from replacing and/or maintaining the existing ADA non-compliant sidewalk, resulting in accessibility and safety concerns for pedestrians utilizing the existing, deteriorating, sidewalk. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2020-21 Street Improvements CIP. The first modification to the existing professional services agreement, in the total estimated amount of $55,836, will leave a current year balance of $269,474 for future project expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
