The Engineering Department recommends approval of Contract Modification No. 2 for the increase in the engineering professional services agreement with Garver, LLC in the amount of $205,267 for the Parker Road Reconstruction – Custer Road to Roundrock Trail, Project No. 7050.  
 
Previously, Contract Modification No. 1 was executed on September 23, 2019, in the amount of $20,499 to add a geotechnical survey, modifications to the signal at the intersection, and structural design for a non-standard storm sewer junction box.  

Contract Modification No. 2 includes survey and design for approximately 2,950 linear feet of 8” water line along Parker Road from the intersection at Independence Parkway to Roundrock Trail, and also another 2,500 linear feet of 12” water line along Parker Road from the eastern side of the intersection at Custer Road to Country Place Drive (approximate location).

If this contract modification is not approved, it would cause continued deterioration of existing water line utilities causing increased maintenance costs in the future.

Funding for this item is available in the 2020-21 Street Improvements CIP.  The second Modification to the professional services agreement for the Parker Road Reconstruction - Custer Road to Roundrock Trail project, in the total estimated amount of $205,267, will leave a current year balance of $106,895 for future project expenditures.
