Plano Fire-Rescue recommends approving the purchase of fifteen (15) LIFEPAK 15 cardiac monitors.
Plano Fire-Rescue uses the Stryker LIFEPAK 15 cardiac monitor on all response apparatus. We have identified fifteen (15) units that are earlier versions and no longer supported by the manufacturer. Plano Fire-Rescue is seeking approval to purchase replacement units to ensure all LIFEPAK 15 cardiac monitors are utilizing current technology and supported by the manufacturer. Stryker is the sole source vendor for the LIFEPAK 15 cardiac monitor.
The estimated amount for this expenditure is $697,432. Funding is available in the Fire Equipment Replacement Fund.
Failure to award the purchase will result in Plano Fire-Rescue’s use of obsolete cardiac monitors that are no longer supported by the manufacturer. Obsolete units will require replacement at a later date.
The City is exempt from the competitive bid process for this purchase as allowed by Texas Local Government Code Chapter 252 Subchapter B Section 252.022(a)(7)(A). (City of Plano Internal Contract No. 2021-0410-X).
