| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Engineering Department opened bids on May 13, 2021 for the 2019 Drainage Improvements project. The project includes construction of miscellaneous drainage improvements at eight (8) sites at various locations in the City of Plano. These locations include 2521 Timber Cove Lane, 2912 Macao Place, the City of Plano Senior Recreation Center, located at 401 W. 16th Street, 6512 Old Gate Road, 3429 18th Street, 7521 Benelux Court, 3532 Canoncita Lane, and 5900/5904 Crownover Court.
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by J.B. & Co. LLC dba Joe Brown & Co., LLC, in the amount of $1,997,742. There were a total of 1,318 vendors notified of this project. Six complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
If this project is not awarded, the drainage infrastructure would continue to deteriorate, resulting in increased maintenance costs and flooding. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2020-21 Municipal Drainage CIP and is planned for 2021-22, as well. Construction services for miscellaneous drainage improvements, in the total estimated amount of $1,997,742, will leave a current year balance of $73,871 for future drainage improvement expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government.
