ITEM SUMMARY

To approve the purchase of Furniture for the Joint Use Police Substation Remodel for the Facilities Department in the estimated amount of $29,934 from Wilson Office Interiors, LLC and in the estimated amount of $132,358 from Plano Office Supply Co. for a total of $162,292 through an existing contract; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. (Omnia Partners Contract No. R191802 and Collin College Contract No. 2021-192) Approved

 

BACKGROUND

Facilities has reviewed the bids submitted for the Joint Use Police Substation Furniture Replacement. Facilities recommends a split award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidders for the HON Package to Plano Office Supply Co. in the total amount of $132,357.84 and the Allsteel package to Wilson Office Interiors, LLC in the total amount of $29,934.26 for a total amount of $162,292.10. The City received three (3) bids and one (1) no bid.

 

The existing furniture is at the end of its life cycle and is due to be replaced during this renovation.

 

The City is authorized to purchase from a cooperative purchasing program with another local government or a local cooperative organization pursuant to Chapter 271 Subchapter F of the Texas Local Government Code and by doing so satisfies any State Law requiring local governments to seek competitive bids for items. (Omnia Partners Contract No. R191802 and Collin College Contract No. 2021-192, City of Plano Contract No. 2021-0425-O)

FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS

This item approves the purchase of replacement of furniture at the Joint Use Police Substation. The total estimated amount to be spent is $162,292; a portion of that total equaling $151,698 will be spent from the Capital Maintenance Fund and the remaining balance of $10,594, will be made from the Criminal Investigation Fund.

 

Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government.
