ITEM SUMMARY

RFB No. 2021-0382-B for Douglass Recreation Center Boys and Girls Club Entry Expansion, Project No. 7315, for the Facilities Department to Fast General Contracting in the amount of $238,000; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. Approved

BACKGROUND

Facilities has reviewed the bids submitted for the Douglass Recreation Center – Boys and Girls Club Entry Expansion. Facilities recommends award to the lowest responsive, responsible bid to Fast General Contracting in the total amount of $238,000.00  The City received five (5) bids and eight (8) no bids. 

 

The building front entrance expansion is required in order for the Boys and Girls Club to improve security control point for the kid’s entering and leaving the building as well as visitors. 

 

The funding for the project is in Capital Maintenance Fund account 54436. 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS

Funding for this item is available in the 2020-21 Capital Maintenance Fund.  Expansion of the front entrance at the Douglass Recreation Center, in the total estimated amount of $238,000, will leave a current year balance of $1,083 for future expenditures at the facility.

 

Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government.
