The Engineering Department opened bids on July 22, 2021 for the Screening Wall Replacement – Coit Road at Highland Shores Drive south of McDermott Road, Project 7216. The project includes the removal and replacement of 1,341 linear feet of screening wall, sidewalks and portions of alley pavement along Coit Road, north of Highland Shores Drive to approximately 500 feet south of Gladed Hollow Drive in the Northridge Estates neighborhood. The scope of this project is comprised mainly of the reconstruction of the following: 719 SY of sidewalk, 1,341 LF of screening wall, and 542 SY of 6” concrete alley pavement.

The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by Ratliff Hardscape, Ltd., in the amount of $1,120,924. There were a total of seven hundred and sixty (760) vendors notified of this project. Three (3) complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.

If this project is not awarded, infrastructure along the Northridge Estates neighborhood, including screening walls, sidewalks, and alleys will continue to deteriorate resulting in increased future maintenance costs and a reduction in the quality of life for residents.

Funding for this item is planned for the 2021-22 Street Improvements CIP.  Removal and replacement of the screening wall, sidewalks and alley pavement in the Screening Wall Replacement - Coit Road at Highland Shores Drive project, in the total estimated amount of $1,120,924, will leave a project balance of $261,039 for future expenditures.
