| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Engineering Department opened bids on July 15, 2021 for the Legacy Drive Corridor Improvements project. The project includes construction of capacity and intersection improvements at three (3) intersections along Legacy Drive corridor: Independence Parkway, Custer Road, and K Avenue. Each intersection has proposed dual left turn lanes, dedicated right turn lanes, and additional thru lanes as needed to maximize the capacity at each intersection. Signal modifications will be completed, as well, to adjust capacity improvements.
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by Urban Infraconstruction, LLC, in the amount of $2,997,792. There were a total of 780 vendors notified of this project. Eight (8) complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
If this project is not awarded, the result will be continued traffic congestion and deterioration of the existing pavement at the three intersections, resulting in increased future maintenance and having a negative impact on the quality of life for motorists in these areas. |
