| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND This project entails the design of eight new traffic signal installations including Alma at Janwood, Los Rios at Merriman, Park at San Gabriel, Parkwood at Democracy, Plano Parkway at International, Preston at Towne Square, Spring Creek at Baywater, and Tennyson at Democracy. This project scope of work includes survey, utility coordination, base map development, design, ADA coordination, and preparation of construction documents. Installation of these traffic signals is intended to reduce the frequency and severity of accidents; increase the traffic-handling capability of the intersections; provide safe ingress/egress to adjacent developments; and/or maintain coordination along the various arterials.
BGE, Inc. was deemed the most qualified design firm based on their Statement of Qualifications submission for RFQ No. 2019-0516-X. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2021-22 Street Improvements CIP. Professional engineering services for the design of eight (8) new traffic signal installations, in the total estimated amount of $198,095, will leave a current year balance of $2,001,395 for future project expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
