| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Engineering Department opened bids on September 2, 2021 for the Screening Wall Replacement - Red Wolf Lane and 15th Street, Project No. 7134. The project includes the removal and replacement of 1,029 linear foot of screening wall along east side of Red Wolf Lane and 1,473 linear feet of screening wall, sidewalks and portions of alley pavement along eastbound 15th Street from Pittman Creek to Westwood Drive.
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by Quick Set Concrete, Inc., in the amount of $1,570,249. There were a total of one thousand four hundred and thirty two (1,432) vendors notified of this project. Four (4) complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
If this project is not awarded, neighborhood infrastructure at these locations, including screening walls, sidewalks, and alleys will continue to deteriorate resulting in continued maintenance costs and a reduction in the quality of life for residents. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is planned in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 Street Improvement CIP. Construction services for the Screening Wall Replacement at Red Wolf Lane and 15th Street project, in the total estimated amount of $1,570,249, will leave a balance of $196,566 for future project expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
