ITEM SUMMARY

RFB No. 2021-0498-B for Water Rehabilitation – Carriage Hill I, II & III, Project. No. 7223, for the Engineering Department to Jeske Construction Company in the amount of $2,601,029; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. Approved

BACKGROUND

The Engineering Department opened bids on September 2, 2021 for the Water Rehabilitation – Carriage Hill I, II & III. The project includes replacement of approximately 7500 linear feet of 8” waterlines (locations listed below) to include all related appurtenances (such as: valves, services, fire hydrants, etc).
 
Caleche St (Cul-de-sac to cul-de-sac),
Mission Ridge Rd (Cabriolet Ct to Sage Bush Trail),
Sage Brush Trail (Mission Ridge Rd to Cul-de-sac),
Brougham Ln (Sandy Trail Ln to Sage Brush Trail),
Runabout Ct (Cul-de-sac to Cul-de-sac), and
Phaeton Ct (Cul-de-sac to Cul-de-sac)
 
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by Jeske Construction Company, a Texas corporation, in the amount of $2,601,029. There were a total of 891 vendors notified of this project. 7 complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
 
If this project is not awarded, neighborhood infrastructure at these locations, including water lines and roadway pavement, will continue to deteriorate leading to increased future maintenance costs and a reduction in the quality of life for residents.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS

Funding for this item is available in the 2021-22 Street Improvement CIP and Water CIP.  Construction services for the Water Rehabilitation - Carriage Hill I, II, & III project, in the total estimated amount of $2,601,029, will leave a combined balance of $777,349 for future project expenditures.

 

Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government.
