| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND Public Works Department recommends the bid for the Residential Concrete Pavement Repair Zone G10 project be awarded to SAZ Global Incorporated dba Saz Infrastructure, in the amount of $5,327,850, to be accepted as the lowest responsible bid for the project, conditioned upon timely execution of all necessary documents.
The project involves the repair of 45,000 square yards of residential concrete street and alley pavement, 90,000 square feet of sidewalk pavement and 493 barrier free ramps in residential Zone G10.
If not awarded by council, these areas will not be repaired, which will result in elevated maintenance and replacement costs in the future. In addition, existing ADA compliance issues will not be repaired leaving pedestrian facilities in an unsafe condition.
Engineer's estimate for this project is $6,900,000. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2021-22 Street Improvements CIP and is planned for future years, as well. Construction services for the Residential Concrete Pavement Repair Zone G10 project, in the total estimated amount of $5,327,850, will leave a current year balance of $624,000 for future project expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
