Public Works Department recommends the bid for the Concrete Pavement Under-Sealing Requirements Contract - 2022 project to be awarded to Nortex Concrete Lift & Stabilization, Inc., in the amount of $1,748,650, be accepted as the lowest responsible bid for the project conditioned upon timely execution of all necessary documents.

This project involves the use of 525,000 pounds of high density polyurethane foam under residential street, alley, and arterial paving. The project locations are identified from citizen and staff requests and verified by Public Works staff prior to construction.

If Council does not approve this project, the under-sealing work will not occur, which could lead to faster degradation of concrete pavement resulting in higher concrete maintenance costs in the future.

Engineer's estimate for this project is $2,490,000.

Funding for this item is available in the 2021-22 Capital Maintenance Fund and is planned for future years, as well.  Award of the Concrete Pavement Under-Sealing Requirements Contract - 2022 has an initial term of two (2) years or $1,748,650 and two (2) City optional renewals of the same term, for an estimated total amount of $5,245,950 if all renewal options are exercised.
