| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Engineering Department opened bids December 9, 2021 for the Screening Walls – Custer Road from Treehouse Lane to Cross Bend Drive & Wooded Creek Addition. The project includes: two (2) locations – Eastside of Custer Road from Treehouse Lane to Cross Bend Drive and along the perimeter of the Jomar Drive cul-de-sac adjacent to the existing alley. The project generally entails construction of masonry screening walls, concrete pavement, and concrete sidewalk.
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by A & B Construction, LLC in the amount of $1,101,666. There were a total of one thousand four hundred and eighty four (1,484) vendors notified of this project. Two (2) complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
If this project is not awarded, neighborhood infrastructure at these two locations will continue to deteriorate, leading to increased future maintenance costs and a reduction in the quality of life for the residents. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2021-22 Street Improvements CIP. Award of the construction contract for the Screening Walls - Custer Road from Treehouse Lane to Cross Bend Drive & Wooded Creek Addition project, in the total estimated amount of $1,101,666, will leave a current year balance of $29,517 for future project expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
