| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND Public Works Department recommends the bid for the Residential Concrete Pavement Repair Zone G3 - West project to be awarded to Alvand Construction, Inc., dba Advance Contracting Group, in the amount of $5,070,500, to be accepted as the lowest responsible bid for the project, conditioned upon timely execution of all necessary documents.
The project involves the repair of 42,400 square yards of residential concrete street and alley pavement, 96,000 square feet of sidewalk pavement and 217 barrier free ramps in residential Zone G3 West.
If not awarded at Council, these areas will not be repaired, which will result in elevated maintenance and replacement costs in the future. In addition, existing ADA compliance issues will not be repaired leaving pedestrian facilities in an unsafe condition.
Engineer's estimate for this project is $5,772,000. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2021-22 Street Improvement CIP and is planned for 2022-23, as well. Construction services for the Residential Concrete Pavement Repair Zone G3 West project, in the total estimated amount of $5,070,500, will leave a current year balance of $2,000 for future project expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government.
