TxDOT informed the City of Plano January 2022 that the W. Parker Road culvert system at Pittman Creek had been selected as apart of the Highway Bridge Program (HBP) for a complete replacement. The HBP is a federal-aid program that provides funding to enable states to improve the condition of highway bridges through replacement, rehabilitation and systematic preventive maintenance.
The W. Parker Road at Pittman Creek location was selected based on its latest inspection including:
- Built in 1970’s
- Ranked: Poor, Sufficiency Rating 34.9
- Culvert Rating: 4 – Large Spalls, heavy scaling, wide cracks
The HBP funding is as follows: 80% federal, 10% TxDOT and 10% local funds. The City’s estimated participation is $135,286. The anticipated schedule will be as follows:
- Scope – 2/2022 – COMPLETE
- Funding commitment 5/2022 – PENDING RESOLUTION CONSIDERATION
- AFA execution – December 2022
- Design start – July 2023
- Construction start – July 2025
