The Engineering Department recommends approval of an expenditure in the amount of $327,323 for engineering professional design services from Urban Engineers Group, Inc. for the Screening Wall Replacement –Legacy Drive, Project No. 7463 . This project includes removal and replacement of 2,345 LF of screening wall and sidewalks in the Willow Bend Estates neighborhood at the following locations: 

1. West of Fallkirk Drive on the north side of Legacy Drive (180 LF) 

2. Fallkirk Drive to Ridgemoor Lane on the north side of Legacy Drive (475 LF) 

3. West of Fallkirk Drive on the south side of Legacy Drive (400 LF) 

4. Fallkirk Drive to Council Drive on the south side of Legacy Drive (1,290 LF)

Urban Engineers Group, Inc. was deemed most qualified based on their Statement of Qualifications submission for RFQ No. 2021-0377-XR.

The benefit of this project includes reconstruction of deteriorating neighborhood infrastructure including screening walls and sidewalks.

Not approving the expenditure would result in continued deterioration of neighborhood infrastructure, including screening walls and sidewalks resulting in increased maintenance costs and a reduction of the quality of life for neighboring residents.

Funding for this item is available in the 2021-22 Street Improvement CIP and is planned for 2022-23, as well.  Engineering professional design services for the Screening Wall Replacement - Legacy Drive project, in the total estimated amount of $327,323, will leave a current year balance of $100,000 for future project expenditures.
