| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Engineering Department opened bids on March 10, 2022 for the 17th Street Paving and Water Line Improvements project. The project includes water line replacement and full width pavement replacement along 17th Street from P Avenue to Jupiter Road. The project includes the removal and replacement of approximately 2,500 linear feet of 8” water line, 2,500 linear feet of full-width collector street pavement, sidewalk, driveways, and barrier free ramps.
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by TalBran Enterprises LLC, in the amount of $2,226,895. There were a total of 1,528 vendors notified of this project. 9 complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
If this project is not awarded, the result is continued deterioration of the existing water line and pavement along 17th Street, resulting in increased maintenance costs for the City and a negative impact on the quality of life in this neighborhood. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2021-22 Street Improvement CIP and Water CIP and is planned in both funds for 2022-23, as well. Construction services for the 17th Street - Paving and Water Line Improvements project, in the total estimated amount of $2,226,895, will leave a current year balance of $775,121 for future project expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
