RFB No. 2022-0410-B for Arterial Concrete Repair Plano Parkway - US 75 to East City Limit, Project No. 7432, for the Public Works Department to Alvand Construction Inc. dba Advance Contracting Group in the amount of $6,776,100; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. Approved

Public Works Department recommends the bid for the Arterial Concrete Repair Plano Parkway - US 75 to East City Limit project to be awarded to Alvand Construction Inc. dba Advance Contracting Group, in the amount of $6,776,100, to be accepted as the lowest responsible bid for the project, conditioned upon timely execution of all necessary documents.

This project involves the repair of 50,000 square yards of arterial street pavement, 45,000 square feet of sidewalk pavement and 136 barrier free ramps.

If not awarded at Council, these areas will not be repaired, which will result in elevated maintenance and replacement costs in the future. In addition, existing ADA compliance issues will not be repaired leaving pedestrian facilities in an unsafe condition.

Engineer's estimate for this project is $8,563,000.

Funding for this item is available in the 2021-22 Street Improvement CIP and is planned for future years, as well.  Construction services for the Arterial Concrete Repair Plano Parkway - US 75 to East City Limit project, in the total estimated amount of $6,776,100, will leave a current year balance of $63,000 for future project expenditures.
