Public Works Department recommends the bid for the Arterial Overlay - Coit Road and Plano Parkway project be awarded to Austin Bridge & Road, LP, in the amount of $4,634,812.00, be accepted as the lowest responsible bid for the project, conditioned upon timely execution of all necessary documents.

This project is to furnish and lay down an ultra-thin overlay on Coit Road between Park Boulevard and SH 121 and on Plano Parkway between Park Boulevard and Preston Road. It will also involve the repair of 1,200 square yards of arterial street concrete.

If this project is not awarded at Council, the overlay and the concrete repairs will not occur. This will lead to increased maintenance costs in the future. Additionally, the riding surface will not be improved.

Engineer's estimate for this project is $4,755,000.

Funding for this item is available in the 2021-22 Street Improvement CIP and is planned for 2022-23, as well.  Construction services for the Arterial Overlay - Coit Road and Plano Parkway project, in the total estimated amount of $4,634,812, will leave a balance of $120,188 for future project expenditures.
