| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Public Works Department recommends the bid for the Arterial Pavement Repair Parker Road - East City Limit to Country Place Drive project be awarded to HQS Construction, LLC, in the amount of $6,473,350.00, to be accepted as the lowest responsible bid for the project conditioned upon timely execution of all necessary documents.
The project involves the repair of 45,000 square yards of arterial concrete, 110,000 square feet of sidewalk and 125 barrier free ramps on Parker Road between the East City Limit and Country Place Drive.
If not awarded at Council, these areas will not be repaired, which will result in elevated maintenance and replacement costs in the future and the planned overlay project for Parker Road will be delayed. In addition, existing ADA compliance issues will not be repaired, leaving pedestrian facilities in an unsafe condition.
Engineer's estimate for the project is $7,983,000. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2021-22 Street Improvement CIP and is planned for 2022-23, as well. Construction services for the Arterial Pavement Repair Parker Road - East City Limit to Country Place Drive project, in the total estimated amount of $6,473,350, will leave a balance of $526,650 for future expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government.
