| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Engineering Department opened bids on April 14, 2022 for the Japonica Lane, R Avenue, Puma Road and Felix Drive - Paving & Water Reconstruction project. The project includes water line replacement, storm sewer construction and street paving replacement.
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by KIK Underground, LLC in the amount of $2,401,463. There were a total of 1222 vendors notified of this project. Nine (9) complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
If this project is not awarded, the result is continued deterioration of the existing pavement and the existing antiquated water lines, resulting in increased maintenance costs for the City and a negative impact on the quality of life for surrounding residents and motorists. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2021-22 Street Improvement CIP and Water CIP and is planned in both funds for 2022-23, as well. Construction services for the Japonica Lane, R Avenue, Puma Road and Felix Drive Paving and Water Reconstruction project, in the total estimated amount of $2,401,463, will leave a current year balance of $614,128 for future project expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
