To approve an expenditure for engineering professional services for Middle Cove, Lookout, Westridge, Carrington & Early Morn - Paving and Water Line Improvements, Project No. 7461, in the amount of $363,000 from Binkley & Barfield, Inc. for the Engineering Department; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. Approved

The Engineering Department recommends approval of an expenditure in the amount of $363,000 for engineering professional services from Binkley & Barfield, Inc. for the Middle Cove, Lookout, Westridge, Carrington & Early Morn - Paving and Water Line Improvements, Project No. 7461. This project includes water line replacement and paving repairs on the streets listed above.

Binkley & Barfield, Inc. was deemed most qualified based on their Statement of Qualifications submission for RFQ No. 2021-0377-XR.

The benefit of this project includes new water lines and paving repairs on the listed streets.

Not approving the expenditure would result in increased ongoing localized maintenance and costs, intermittent service interruptions, and a reduction in quality of life for local residents.

Funding for this item is available in the 2021-22 Street Improvement CIP.  Professional design services for the Middle Cove, Lookout, Westridge, Carrington & Earl Morn - Paving and Water Line Improvements project, in the total estimated amount of $363,000, will leave a current year balance of $87,000 for future project expenditures.

Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government.
