| | | | | | | | ITEM SUMMARY Resolution No. 2022-5-2(R): To approve a contract with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in an amount not to exceed $1,988,051 in HOME Investment Partnerships Program – American Rescue Plan (HOME-ARP); designating the City Manager as Chief Executive Officer and authorized representative of the City for the purpose of executing the contract consistent with this resolution, acting in connection with said contract, and providing required information; providing an effective date; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. Adopted

| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The City of Plano has been allocated $1,988,051 in HOME Investment Partnerships Program – American Rescue Plan (HOME-ARP) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These funds may be used for the purpose of eligible HOME-ARP activities including: the production or preservation of affordable housing; tenant-based rental assistance; supportive services, including homeless prevention services and housing counseling; and, the purchase or development of non-congregate shelter for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. All funds must be expended by September 30, 2030.
Next Steps
Staff will submit an application for HOME-ARP funding to HUD and use the associated administrative funds to enlist a consultant in gathering data to determine appropriate options for funding usage. These recommendations will be presented to City Council for further action. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS This item approves a contract with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The total amount to be received in FY 2021-22 and FY 2022-23 is not to exceed $1,988,051.
