| | | | | | | | ITEM SUMMARY RFB No. 2022-0401-B for Alley Reconstruction – Armstrong Drive, Early Morn Drive, Fremont Lane, Elmcrest Circle, N Avenue to Concord Circle, Bosque Drive, Project No. 7291, for the Engineering Department to Austin Raymond Construction, LLC dba Texas Civil Construction in the amount of $1,081,658; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. Approved |
| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Engineering Department opened bids on April 21, 2022 for the Alley Reconstruction – Armstrong Drive, Early Morn Drive, Fremont Lane, Elmcrest Circle, N Avenue to Concord Circle, Bosque Drive Project 7291. The project includes replacement of approximately 5,530 linear feet of existing alley at the following locations:
- Armstrong Drive – N Avenue to P Avenue (1,260’)
- Concord Circle – between N Avenue and Concord Circle (420')
- Early Morn Drive – Early Morn Drive to Decator Drive (1,480’)
- Fremont Lane – Fremont Lane to Tee (550’)
- Elmcrest Circle – Independence Parkway to Independence Parkway (885’)
- Bosque Drive – Leon Drive to Netch Drive (935’) –also includes new construction for underground storm drainage system to alleviate localized flooding.
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by Austin Raymond Construction, LLC dba Texas Civil Construction, in the amount of $1,081,658. There were a total of 946 vendors notified of this project. 7 complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
If this project is not awarded, neighborhood infrastructure and alley pavement at these locations, will continue to deteriorate leading to an increase in future maintenance costs and a reduction in the quality of life for the residents. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2021-22 Street Improvement CIP and is planned for 2022-23, as well. Construction services for the Alley Reconstruction - Armstrong Drive, Early Morn Drive, Fremont Lane, Elmcrest Circle, N Avenue to Concord Circle, and Bosque Drive project, in the total estimated amount of $1,081,658, will leave a current year balance of $159,092 for future project expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
