After recent winter storms, the City of Plano identified several locations that either need generators or need replacements to meet increased demand. The Facilities division obtained quotes for generators for Fire Station 3, Fire Station 4, Fire Station 7, Fire Station 8, Facilities Maintenance, and the Animal Shelter. Due to current extensive lead times for this equipment, the orders were placed immediately. Presently, it is expected that this equipment will be delivered in early 2023.

The generators at the Animal Shelter and Facilities Maintenance are being added to support the operations at each facility in the event of a power failure.
