| | | | | | | | PREVIOUS ACTION/PRESENTATION On July 12, 2021, the City entered into an agreement for the Municipal Center - City Council Chambers Renovations, Project No. 7364 with Brinkley Sargent Wiginton Architects, Inc. in the amount of $40,000. |
| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Engineering Department recommends approval of Contract Modification No. 1 for the increase in the Professional Services Agreement dated July 12, 2021, with Brinkley Sargent Wiginton Architects, Inc. a Texas Corporation, in the amount of $332,625, for the Municipal Center - City Council Chambers Renovations, Project No. 7364.
Contract Modification No. 1 includes additional services for design development and construction documents including bid services and construction administration for the following design disciplines: architectural, technology systems, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services. It will also add the following consulting services: accessibility, commissioning, interior design, and furniture selection/procurement.
Brinkley Sargent Wiginton Architects, Inc. was contracted to develop schematic designs and renderings for the concepts used for project scoping and community engagement for Municipal Center - City Council Chambers Renovations.
If this contract modification is not approved, the project would be delayed by a considerable amount costing additional project funds due to monthly cost escalations. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2021-22 Municipal Facilities CIP. The first modification to the Professional Services Agreement for design development and construction documents, in the total estimated amount of $332,625, will leave a current year balance of $157,375 for future expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factors of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government.
