| | | | | | | | ITEM SUMMARY RFB No. 2022-0392-B for Intersection Improvements - Spring Creek Parkway at US75, Preston Road at Park Boulevard, and Headquarters Drive at Dallas North Tollway, Project No. 7214, for the Engineering Department to XIT Paving and Construction, Inc. in the amount of $1,482,938; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. | | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Engineering Department opened bids on April 26, 2022 for the Intersection Improvements – Spring Creek Parkway at US75, Preston Road at Park Boulevard and Headquarters Drive at Dallas North Tollway. The project includes additional pavement for right turn lanes, sidewalk, barrier free ramp replacements, median improvements, and signal modifications to add traffic capacity, reduce congestion, and increase safety.
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by XIT Paving and Construction, Inc., in the amount of $1,482,938. There were a total of 1071 vendors notified of this project. 3 complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
If this project is not awarded, insufficient accessible routes and traffic congestion will remain, resulting in a reduced quality of life for residents. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2021-22 Street Improvement CIP and is planned for 2022-23, as well. Construction services for the Intersection Improvements - Spring Creek Parkway at US 75, Preston Road at Park Boulevard and Headquarters Drive at Dallas North Tollway project, in the total estimated amount of $1,482,938, will leave a current year balance of $133,378 for future project expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
