| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND Public Works Department recommends the bid for Arterial Concrete Repair Hedgcoxe Road - Legacy Drive to Custer Road project be awarded to HQS Construction, LLC, in the amount of $3,296,285.00, to be accepted as the lowest responsive and responsible bid for the project conditioned upon timely execution of all necessary documents.
The project involves the repair of 15,000 square yards of arterial concrete, 72,000 square feet of sidewalk and 155 barrier free ramps on Hedgcoxe Road between Legacy Drive and Custer Road.
If not awarded at Council, these areas will not be repaired, which will result in elevated maintenance and replacement costs in the future and the planned overlay project for Hedgcoxe Road will be delayed. In addition, existing ADA compliance issues will not be repaired, leaving pedestrian facilities in an unsafe condition.
Engineer's estimate for the project is $3,880,000. |

Construction services for the Arterial Concrete Repair Hedgcoxe Road - Legacy Drive to Custer Road project, in the total estimated amount of $3,296,285, will leave a current year balance of $3,715 for future project expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
