| | | | | | | | ITEM SUMMARY RFB No. 2022-0433-B for Bridge Repairs Phase III, Project No. 7056, for the Engineering Department to A & B Construction, LLC in the amount of $2,362,497; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. Approved

| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Engineering Department opened bids on May 26, 2022 for the Bridge Repairs Phase III project. The project includes repair of bridge decks, approach slabs, railings, sidewalks and channel paving.
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by A & B Construction, LLC, in the amount of $2,362,497. There were a total of 975 vendors notified of this project. Four (4) complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
If this project is not awarded, the probable consequences are continued deterioration of the existing bridges, resulting in increased maintenance costs for the City and a negative impact on the quality of life for motorists using these facilities. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2021-22 Street Improvement CIP and is planned for 2022-23, as well. Construction services for the Bridge Repairs Phase III project, in the total estimated amount of $2,362,497, will leave a current year balance of $206,408 for future project expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
